Work to restore The Bank begins

by | Nov 23, 2023 | Development & Heritage, News, Traffic & Transport | 0 comments

Long awaited structural repairs to the historic Bank retaining wall and the replacement of footpaths and railings, as well as resurfacing of the Bank itself, began on 20 November 2023. The works will continue until 20 April 2024 with a break from 22 December until January 2nd. During the works, there will be no access for vehicles to the Bank itself and parking bays on Cholmeley Park outside Cholmeley Lodge will be used for construction plant and storage.

The two parking bays outside the Lodge on Highgate Hill will be used for a welfare unit and other bays on Highgate Hill will be suspended intermittently to allow pedestrian diversions when necessary.

It appears from the Diversion signs that have appeared on Cholmeley Park that it will also be partially closed from time to time to allow the delivery of plant and machinery.
