It’s going to be a strange Christmas this year but Highgate organisations are pulling out all the stops to keep the show on the road.

The Highgate Society have organised the Highgate and Muswell Hill Brass Band to play to accompany some late night Christmas shopping in the Village from 6pm on Wednesday 9 December. Their annual carols in Pond Square are going online this year at 7pm on 16 December.

Lauderdale House and Omved Gardens are planning linked Christmas Fairs on the weekend of 12/13 December. And you can Zoom in to see Santa in his virtual grotto after school from the 14-16 December. There will also be carols on the Lauderdale Tea Lawn on December 21. Subscribe to the Highgate Hitlist for a weekly updates.

Join in to cheer up Christmas

Local people are sending out a message of joy by decorating Highgate with festive messages. Why don’t you join in? Parcel wrap a communication box, put tinsel around a lamp post, knit or crochet a snow scene for a pillar box or write a message for your Highgate neighbours and put it on a panel of our Grade Two Listed telephone boxes. (a sheet of A5 fits nicely).  It should all add up to a Christmas to remember!

And the team raIsing money for our Christmas Lights still need our help – donate at https://justgiving.com/crowdfunding/n62020
