We’re pleased to tell you that the Haringey Planning Policy team will be recommending that the first three of our projects go into the first round of CIL (Community Infrastructure Levy) spending in the Spring and two more should follow shortly. The BMX and active outdoor zone for older children (near Highgate tube station), the Play Trail on the Parkland Walk (near the Miltons) and the Street Trees Replacement projects all meet the Council’s criteria and should go ahead this year. Hopefully, a scheme to provide Interpretation Boards for visitors to Highgate and another to provide a lift in Highgate Library (in Shepherds Hill) should also go ahead once officers are able to sort out delivery issues with the departments concerned. Further projects are in the pipeline for Round 2 spending later in the year.
And more projects in Camden
Meanwhile, on the Camden side of our area, CIL-funded projects are planned to provide new equipment and a youth safety project at the Holly Lodge Community Centre, and refurbishment of the Highgate Society’s 10A premises, as well as a youth arts project at Lauderdale House. Further bids for Camden CIL money are being worked on to fund a design competition for the refurbishment of Pond Square, Street Tree Replacement, the Visit Highgate project and a water fountain in Waterlow Park.
Watch this space for more on all these projects as they progress and
