Natural play space for Parkland Walk

A project to create a natural play space on the Parkland Walk (next to the Miltons entrance) has been approved to go forward into Round 1 CIL spending in Haringey this Spring. Taking a multi-generational approach, it will offer opportunities to sit, watch and rest – for weary parents and grandparents! – as well as places to climb, swing and run for toddlers though to young teens. Play structures will be made of natural materials to fit into the surrounding trees and shrubs. The idea is to create an exciting outdoor space for adventurous, imaginative play in natural surroundings. Originally suggested by parents in the Miltons and developed in collaboration with Haringey Parks Department, the scheme was enthusiastically welcomed by local residents who attended an engagement event during last year’s Highgate Festival. It will be delivered by local design and architecture studio Collective Works (https://collectiveworks.net) and the local community will be given the opportunity to help build the project.
