As part of local Earth Day celebrations, LUX is hosted a Biodiversity Brainstorm on Saturday 22 April from 2–4pm. We heard from local activists about projects to support and increase our biodiversity.

2–3pm: Speakers:

  • Jeska Harrington Gould, Growing Green
  • Simon Olley, Parkland Walk Nature Reserve
  • Karin Oleinikova, Heath Hands Hedgehog Project
  • Rita Drobner, How to Build a Garden Pond
  • Ginnie Smith, Waterlow Park Biodiversity
  • Kiran Lee, Omved Gardens
  • Martin Adeney, Highgate Cemetery

3–4pm: Informal workshop t generate and discuss ideas and make connections. Find out what you can do in your own small patch or by volunteering. View the event brochure.

Update: this was an inspiring event which presented great networking opportunities for all present, as well as generating lots of ideas for future events and a guide for residents wishing to improve the biodiversity of their patch and create wildlife corridors through their gardens – it seems ponds will feature heavily…
